Horticulture research and training institute is the college under government ownership with registration REG/SAT/002.The institute is located at Arusha region,at Arumeru district in Tanzania

TARI Tengeru is a sub center under the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI).  The center has the national mandate to conduct, regulate, promote and coordinate all horticultural (Vegetables, Fruits, Spices and herbs), mushroom and ornamental plants research activities conducted in Tanzania.

The center is located in Northern part of Tanzania in Arusha region. It is about 16km East from Arusha town.
