Job Vacancy Announcement at The Parliament Of The United Republic Of Tanzania – Tangazo La Nafasi Za Kazi Bunge La Jamhuri Ya Muungano Wa Tanzania

The Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania is established under Article 62 of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977. Additionally, Article 88 of the Constitution establishes the Parliament Secretariat tasked with enabling Parliament to perform its duties. Based on this, the Parliament Secretariat announces job vacancies in various categories to enhance its performance. All qualified and capable Tanzanians are invited to submit their applications to fill the job vacancies as outlined below:
1.0 ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER GRADE II – 1 POSITION
1.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Administrative Officer Grade II
- i) Managing administrative and operational tasks in the Institution;
- ii) Overseeing the implementation of various Laws, Policies, Regulations, and Procedures of the Institution;
- iii) Identifying, analyzing, and advising on the needs for work tools for employees;
- iv) Keeping records of significant events in the Institution;
- v) Managing/coordinating the issuance of identification cards for employees; and
- vi) Other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
1.2 Applicant Qualifications
The applicant must have a Degree from a University recognized by the Government in the field of Administration, Public Management, and must possess Computer skills.
1.3 Salary Level
The salary level is PSS D.
2.0 TECHNICIAN GRADE II (ELECTRICAL) – 1 POSITION
2.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Electrical Technician Grade II
- i) Inspecting and reporting on technical faults in electrical systems;
- ii) Addressing minor technical faults in electrical systems;
- iii) Designing and proposing small electrical projects;
- iv) Monitoring and verifying electricity bills; and
- v) Other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
2.2 Applicant Qualifications
The applicant must have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a Government-recognized institution.
2.3 Salary Level
The salary level is PSS C.
3.0 TECHNICIAN GRADE II (MECHANICAL) – 1 POSITION
3.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Mechanical Technician Grade II
- i) Conducting quality inspections of vehicles, machines, and equipment and advising accordingly;
- ii) Performing minor repairs on vehicles, machines, and equipment;
- iii) Preparing technical reports on vehicles, machines, and equipment and submitting them to their supervisor;
- iv) Preparing a Preventive Maintenance Plan for vehicles, machines, and equipment; and
- v) Other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
3.2 Applicant Qualifications
The applicant must have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a Government-recognized institution.
3.3 Salary Level
The salary level is PSS C.
4.0 PHARMACY TECHNOLOGIST GRADE II – 1 POSITION
4.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Pharmacy Technologist Grade II
- i) Identifying, preparing, and ordering medication and medical supplies in their work area;
- ii) Dispensing medications and medical supplies to patients according to Doctor’s instructions;
- iii) Compounding and preparing medications;
- iv) Storing medications and medical supplies;
- v) Educating the community about proper medication use;
- vi) Inspecting medications, medical supplies, and instruments in their work area;
- vii) Reporting adverse effects of medications;
- viii) Preparing reports on medication and medical supply usage;
- ix) Conducting quality assessments of medications, medical supplies, and instruments;
- x) Conducting various inspections in areas where medications are stored;
- xi) Maintaining records of medications and medical supplies; and
- xii) Other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
4.2 Applicant Qualifications
The applicant must have a three-year Diploma in Pharmacy Technology from a Government-recognized Health college, must be registered with the Pharmacy Council, and must have a valid work license.
4.3 Salary Level
The salary level is TGHS B.
5.0 DENTAL THERAPIST GRADE II – 1 POSITION
5.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Dental Therapist Grade II
- i) Identifying and treating common oral and dental diseases;
- ii) Filling and extracting teeth;
- iii) Participating in planning and implementing Primary Health Services;
- iv) Keeping records of service delivery tools and equipment;
- v) Keeping records, preparing, and submitting performance reports; and
- vi) Other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
5.2 Applicant Qualifications
The applicant must have a Diploma in Dental Therapy from a Government-recognized institution, must be registered with the Medical Council, and must have a valid work license.
5.3 Salary Level
The salary level is TGHS B.
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ALL APPLICANTS
- i) All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not more than 45 years.
- ii) All applicants must attach a birth certificate.
iii) Applicants who are already Public Service employees and have acquired qualifications for different positions must submit their job application letters through their employers.
- iv) Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
- v) Applicants must attach a detailed CV with reliable addresses and phone numbers, along with three reliable referees and a recent passport-sized photo.
- vi) All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic certificates verified by a Lawyer, which include Form Four and Form Six certificates for those who have reached that level, and certificates of various training based on the job qualifications such as:
– Degree, Advanced Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, and Basic Certificates;
– Computer Training Certificate; and
– Professional certificates issued by Boards/Institutions governing the profession.
vii) Form IV and Form VI Result Slips will NOT BE ACCEPTED.
viii) Applicants must have a National Identification Card or its number.
- ix) Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
- x) Applicants must not have been convicted of any criminal offenses.
- xi) Applicants who have retired or left the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
xii) Job applicants who submit false information will face legal action.
xiii) The deadline for submitting job applications is August 2, 2024.
