The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) wishes to inform the public, Higher Education Institutions and all stakeholders of higher education within and outside the country that the application window for admission for Undergraduate Degree applicants for the academic year 2024/2025 has been opened from today date 15/7/2024. This window will be open until 10/8/2024.
ADMISSION APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025
Categories of Admission Applicants
Admission applications for joining Undergraduate Degrees concern three categories of applicants:
- Those with eligible qualifications of Form Six.
- Those with eligible qualifications of Ordinary Diploma, or equivalent qualifications; and
- Those with eligible qualifications of the Preliminary Certificate (Foundation Certificate) of the Open University of Tanzania.
To understand the eligible qualifications for the three categories mentioned above, colleges and programs allowed to admit, applicants should read the criteria shown in the admission application guidebooks provided by TCU (bachelor’s degree Admission Guidebooks for 2024/2025 Academic Year) available on the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz).
Procedure for Sending Admission Applications
- Applications should be sent directly to the colleges that the applicant has chosen and chosen study programs they like.
- Specific instructions on how to send applications are provided by the respective colleges.
Criteria and Qualifications of Admission Applicants
Criteria and qualifications in various study programs are available on the websites of the respective colleges and in the admission application guidebooks available on the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz).
Important Issues to Consider by Applicants
- Read carefully and understand the admission guide provided by TCU along with specific instructions from colleges before starting to send admission applications.
- Enter the college websites and communicate with the colleges directly to know the procedures for sending applications and get detailed information about study programs to satisfy themselves before sending applications.
- Send applications directly to colleges through electronic systems set by the respective colleges.
- Applicants with certificates issued by examination boards outside the country should submit their certificates to the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for Secondary Education certificates or the National Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (NACTVET) for Diploma certificates to get equivalence of their qualifications before sending admission applications.
- The Commission encourages all admission applicants to continue getting correct information through the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz), websites of colleges allowed to admit Undergraduate Degree students, as well as various information provided by TCU through the media.
Caution
The Commission calls on all Undergraduate Degree applicants, if they need clarification of any issue concerning admission, to communicate directly with the respective colleges. Also, if they need general information, they can contact TCU by using the email [email protected].
Also, TCU warns citizens to avoid being defrauded by people claiming to be agents or advisors claiming to provide services on how to join higher education colleges in the country.
