AboutCommand and Staff College, Duluti
The Command and Staff College (CSC)-Duluti is one of Tanzania Peoples’ Defence Forces’ training institutes that impart necessary knowledge for senior military officers with rank of Major and above from TPDF, EAC, ECOWAS, SADC, North Africa and other friendly countries. It was found in 1979 few months after the Kagera War and was situated at Fort Ikoma in the plains of Serengeti National Park in Mara region the North West of Tanzania.
However, in 1989 was shifted to Monduli district in Arusha region in the northern part of the country and was co-located with her sister Tanzania Military Academy (TMA).
Later in 2015, it was further shifted to Duluti, the outskirt of Arusha town where it acquires a permanent location. The college is mandated to train selected officers enabling them to assume higher responsibilities both in command and staff as well as to inculcate in them personal and professional ethics. It’s more than quarter a century since the first graduation and has continued to hub the military knowledge.
The change in imparting knowledge due to technological advancement and globalization which necessitated the College to collaborate with the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) to conduct programmes in Strategic Studies (Diploma & Post graduate Diploma in Strategic studies) along with the CSC programmes since 2013/14 academic year.
However, in July, 2020 the College received accreditation from the National Council on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NECTVET) to conduct and award Ordinary Diploma and Masters of Arts in Defence and Security Studies independently.
With the same reason the College has embarked in reviewing its Army Centric to Tri – Service centric curriculum since 2018 to date. This means that all three arms (Army, Navy Force and Air Force) has been included in the curriculum.
