Marian University College (MARUCO) located in Bagamoyo, Tanzania, a place with ancient but very fascinating slave trade history. In visiting our website, you will be exposed to a host of science based programmes at undergraduate level as well as non-degree programmes, namely: Certificates and Diplomas. The University College is committed to offering unique and innovative science programmes so as to contribute in the production of a critical mass of scientists to make Tanzania Competitive regionally and globally. You will also find MARUCO’s environment very inviting with a team of committed staff most of whom are young and dynamic. With only two years in existence, the institution has acquired an enviable reputation nationally in seeking to impart its students with abilities to be leaders in identifying challenges and developing solutions.
Our developmental philosophy is student-centred aimed at enhancing inquisitive potentials, developing skills, nurturing and inculcating ethical values to make them responsible citizens. MARUCO, being a non-sectarian institution is duty bound to treating all students equally and fairly in all matters pertaining to academic and other related issues.
MARUCO students enjoy services of a quality digitized library with many book titles and journals and located in the newly constructed five storey building that also houses lecture halls, a computer laboratory with a capacity of 300 students at a single seating and spacious seminar rooms. The University College’s aspiration is to make its library a virtual one so that its students access reading materials at any location.
The College is mindful of ensuring good health status of its students and staff. In this regard, a Health Centre is in place and in case of complicated cases, sick students and staff are referred to Bagamoyo District Hospital or to Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam.
We advise students to seriously exploit the golden opportunity accorded to them by MARUCO so as to emerge as skillful graduates and potential competitors in the labour market. In addition, they are encouraged to join student welfare clubs within the College campus where they can discuss issues of mutual interest that serve them to grow intellectually, ethically and morally.
Once again, I welcome all intending students to this University College where your hidden talents will be enhanced.
