Stella Maris Mtwara University College (STeMMUCo) is a constituent of St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) located at “South Eastern part ” Mtwara . The college runs programmes of study as approved by Tanzania commission for Universities(TCU).

The College started as a University Centre of St Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) in 2009 in accordance with the mission and vision of the University which foresees the holistic formation of a person for the national development. It was purposefully established in southern Tanzania so as to uplift the zone in education and development panacea. For a long time the southern zone of Tanzania including Mtwara, Lindi and Ruvuma has been lagging behind in terms of various social and economic developments.
