AboutEmbassy of Ireland, Tanzania
Ireland has a long-standing relationship with Tanzania. Our bilateral ties and partnerships stretch across cultural, political, development co-operation and trade. The Embassy of Ireland in Tanzania celebrated its 40-year anniversary in 2019 and we continue to build on this presence and history.
When Mwalimu Julius Nyerere spoke at a State dinner during a visit to Ireland in 1979, he said that he was not surprised that he felt so at home. He recalled the many Irish people that had worked in Tanzania and spoke of the strong human dimension to Irish-Tanzanian relations. Today we continue to build on these historic links.
The Embassy of Ireland is focused on deepening our bilateral relations with the Government of Tanzania and the Governments of Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo and Seychelles, countries to which the Embassy is also accredited.
