The Tanzania Engineering and Manufacturing Design Organization (TEMDO) is an applied Engineering Research and Development institution established through Parliament Act No 23 of 1980 which became operational in July 1982.

TEMDO operates under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Marketing. TEMDO is based at Njiro Hills in the Municipality of Arusha. The major establishment objective of TEMDO was to design, adapt, and develop machinery and equipment, and to promote their commercial manufacture and use.
