ASSISTANT CHILD CARE OFFICER GRADE II – 2 POSITIONS IN IRINGA REGION
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Providing care, upbringing, and early development services for children in Daycare Centers, Infant Care Centers, Homes for Children in Hazardous Environments including juvenile detention centers, reform schools, safe houses, and Drop-in centers, Satellite schools.
ii. Preparing a plan for early stimulation services in daycare centers.
iii. Participating in creating enabling environments for the implementation of child care services, including infrastructure and play equipment and learning corners.
iv. Preparing a daily activity implementation report in the relevant area.
v. Identifying stakeholders, opportunities, and resources they have to connect them with the serviced.
vi. Conducting capacity-building training for child caregivers and the relevant community.
vii. Providing advice to parents/caregivers on child upbringing in their area.
viii. Preparing a daily activity implementation report in the relevant area.
ix. Participating in identifying stakeholders, opportunities, and resources they have to connect them with the serviced.
x. Providing education and services for child care, upbringing, and early development to the community.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, one must have a Diploma in one of the fields of Education in Child Care, Upbringing, and Early Development, Social Welfare, Psychology, or other related fields from a Government-recognized institution.
SALARY SCALE
According to Government Salary Scales TGS C
GENERAL TERMS.
- All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and not older than 45 years, except those already employed in government service;

- “Testimonials”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of results”, Form Four and Form Six results slips (FORM IV AND FORM VI RESULTS SLIPS) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Applicants who studied outside Tanzania should ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
- Applicants who have retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
- Job applicants who are already employed in entry positions in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
