As Branch Manager the employee is ultimate responsible for the general, operational, administrative and financial management of the Company.
Your Responsibilities
General Management
Develop and implement optimal processes in freight forwarding and logistics operations.
Take measures to improve profitability.
Ensure maximum quality service standards.
Analysis and optimisation of the company’s organisational structure und processes.
Drive the development and growth of the company.
Lead the team towards sustainable growth and performance.
Monitor daily activities and performance of the team towards absolute customer satisfaction. Collaboration with business unit cluster managers in sound business management.
Sales and Marketing
Analysing the market potential and developing a commercial market strategy.
Implementation of the market strategy.
Establishing and optimising a strong sales force as per the company guideline.
Building up of a personal clientele and personally taking care of the most important key customers.
Human Resources
Personal selection, leadership and development of the management and key staff.
Creating and sustaining a healthy work environment; encourage cooperation between departments, foster a climate where employees of all levels are comfortable to speak up.
Together with HR, Development and implementation of a program for continued learning & development of staff.
Controlling
Securing a well-functioning financial management and accounting procedures in close cooperation with the company’s Financial Controller.
Continuous management of direct expenses and optimisation of the cost structure; active management of cash flow. Active management of credit limits and status of invoicing, debtors and debt collection.
Regular reporting the financial situation of the company to Regional Management and Corporate Headquarters in the frame of the Kuehne + Nagel Reporting Guidelines.
Management of the suppliers and supplier onboarding process.
QSHE
Support and coordinate the implementation of QSHE system within BU and assure QSHE Management systems effectiveness and consistent in regular activities of the company, followed in all levels and in accordance with applicable norms and standards.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
Conducting the business at any time within the frame of Catalogue of Competence and Legal & Compliance regulations.
Representation of the Company in the public.
Legal representation of the Company.
Regular alignment/meetings with the Company’s key management team and cluster management.
Close cooperation with the other Kuehne + Nagel companies and especially the Regional Management.
Your Skills And Experiences
Senior Level business development experience in logistics or service based industries
Leadership responsibility in direct and indirect reporting structures (line or project management
Strong competent leader and team player
Ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts on internal and external board level
Strategic vision: ability to see the “big picture”, grasp its complexity and develop vision of new business opportunities and processes
Creativity: Questions traditional ways of doing things and encourages change
Strong Knowledge of Eastern Africa Road Logistics Market
Proven Success in building competitive and sustainable solutions
Minimum First University Degree
Preferred Second University Degree and/or MBA or equivalent
