ANNOUNCEMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER POSITIONS – 8,900 Vacancies
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania through the Ministry of Health and the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (OR-TAMISEMI) is implementing the Integrated Community Health Workers Program in the country.
Through this program, the Government has established a procedure to recruit qualified Health Workers, provide training, and deploy Community Health Workers in the implementation of Integrated Health, Nutrition, and Community Welfare interventions where the program requires two (2) Health Workers, one male and one female, for each Village/Street.
In implementing this program, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the President’s Office – TAMISEMI is announcing to the Citizens that this program will start in the first phase in 10 Regions and two (2) District Councils for each Region as shown in the Table:

Furthermore, the implementation of this plan will continue in phases in all Regions and Councils of Mainland Tanzania. Citizens with the appropriate qualifications within the 10 Regions shown in the table above are encouraged to apply for positions of Community Health Workers in all Streets/Villages within their Councils.
All applications should be submitted to the Directors of the Councils, who will oversee the process of selecting qualified Health Workers among those who have applied, taking into account the guidelines provided.
Applicant qualifications:
Applications should be submitted to the Ward Executive Office accompanied by:
a) A handwritten job application letter signed by the applicant
b) A copy of the Form IV Leaving Certificate;
c) Two (2) Passport Size photos;
d) Personal details (CV), showing age, full address and mobile phone number, along with the address/mobile phone number of at least two (2) guarantors.
e) A confirmation letter from the Village/Street Executive Officer of the area where the applicant comes from.
The deadline for submitting these applications is two (2) weeks from the date of this announcement. Further instructions can be obtained through the relevant Ward Executive Offices.
