    Job Vacancy Announcement at Muheza District Council

    The Executive Director of the Muheza District Council has received a permit for alternative employment with Reference No. FA.228/613/01/D/020 dated 21/06/2024, and a permit for new employment with Reference No. FA.97/288/01/09 dated 25/06/2024, for the fiscal year 2023/2024 from the Secretary General of the President’s Office Management of Public Service and Administration. Therefore, all Tanzanians who meet the qualifications are invited to submit applications for the following positions:

    1.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT WRITER GRADE II – 2 POSITIONS

    1.1 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

    Must have completed secondary education (Form Four or Six) with a diploma in secretarial studies or an NTA LEVEL 6 certificate in secretarial studies. Additionally, must have passed the final exams in Swahili and English typing 100 words per minute and have knowledge of office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher from any institution recognized by the government.

    1.1.1 JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    i. To type letters, reports, and documents that are routine and confidential;

    ii. To receive visitors and address their concerns, directing them to where they can be attended to;

    iii. To maintain records of events, projects, visitors, meeting dates, the travel of their supervisor, and schedules of other planned activities in the office they are working in, and to inform their supervisor in a timely manner;

    iv. To search for and provide their supervisor with files, documents, or anything else required for office work;

    v. To relay instructions from their supervisor to their assistants and to inform the supervisor of any information received from the assistants;

    vi. To receive files, distribute them to the officers in their area, collect them, keep them, and return them to the relevant places;

    vii. To prepare summaries and make arrangements for various meetings;

    viii. To prepare a list of office supply needs; and

    ix. To perform any other duties assigned by their supervisor.

    1.1.2 SALARY LEVEL

    According to Government Salary Levels TGS C

    1.2 VILLAGE EXECUTIVE GRADE III – (24 POSITIONS)

    1.2.1 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

    A graduate of Form Four (IV) or Six (VI) with a Diploma in Administration, Law, Social Education, Community Development, Financial Management, Economics, and Planning from institutions recognized by the Government.

    1.2.2 JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    i. Secretary of the Street Committee;

    ii. Chief Executive of the Street;

    iii. Coordinator of the implementation of policies and laws enforced by the Council in the Street;

    iv. Advisor to the Street Committee on Development Plans in the Street;

    v. Supervisor of the implementation of by-laws and other laws applicable in the Street;

    vi. Advisor to the Street Committee on security and safety issues;

    vii. Supervisor of the implementation of various strategies regarding hunger and poverty alleviation in the Street;

    viii. To oversee the collection of revenue for the Council and maintain records of all taxpayers;

    ix. To prepare and maintain a register of all residents of the Street; and

    x. To report to the Ward Executive.

    1.2.3 SALARY LEVEL

    According to Government Salary Levels TGS B

    1.3 DRIVER GRADE II – (5 POSITIONS)

    1.3.1 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

    Must possess a Form Four certificate and a Class E or C1 driving license, with at least one year of work experience without causing any accidents. Must have attended basic driving training offered by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) or another institution recognized by the Government.

    4.1.1 JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety condition;

    ii. To transport staff to various locations on work-related trips;

    iii. To perform minor repairs on the vehicle;

    iv. To collect and distribute various documents;

    v. To fill in and maintain records of all trips in the trip log;

    vi. To clean the vehicle; and

    vii. To perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor.

    4.1.2 SALARY LEVEL

    According to Government Salary Levels TGS B

    GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS

    i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years, except for those already employed in the Government;

    ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should specify their disabilities in the job application system for the information of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat;

    iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a current address, reachable phone numbers, and three reliable referees;

    iv. Applicants who are already Public Servants and have acquired qualifications to enter different positions must submit their application letters for job vacancies through their employers, who must verify their qualifications appropriately;

    v. Applicants must attach a detailed CV with reliable contact information and three trustworthy referees;

    vi. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of educational and professional certificates validated by a lawyer, including Form Four or Six certificates for those who have reached that level and certificates of completion for various training based on the job qualifications;

    vii. Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates, – Form IV and VI examination certificates, – Computer Certificate, – Professional Certificates from respective boards;

    viii. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of results, and Form IV and VI results slips will NOT be accepted;

    ix. Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates are verified and certified by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE);

    x. Applicants who have been dismissed from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary;

    xi. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in Public Service should not apply and should adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010;

    xii. Submission of false information and qualifications will result in legal action against the individuals involved;

    xiii. The deadline for submitting job applications is July 31, 2024.
