    Chemonics International, a US-based international development consulting firm seeks a Performance and Knowledge Management Director for the anticipated USAID NextGen Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora (Better Supply, Better Health) activity to be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This activity aims to strengthen supply chain and pharmaceutical services to ensure sustainable access to and appropriate use of safe, effective, quality-assured, affordable health commodities and will work to develop the capacity of local systems, institutions, and individuals to sustainably manage supply chains, for both USAID-procured health commodities and those procured through national/local systems, and to strengthen local pharmaceutical management systems, including quality pharmaceutical services and national regulatory systems.

    The Performance and Knowledge Management Director will report to the Chief of Party and lead the project’s data quality, monitoring, evaluation, learning and knowledge management functions and activities.

    • Develop and implement systems for capture of project level performance data
    • Ensure that the project is generating learnings and implementing continual improvement practices
    • Oversee documentation and sharing of learning and best practices
    • Develop and oversee the design of knowledge management solutions to meet the prioritized needs,
    • Work with leaders, staff across regions and functions, and the knowledge team to monitor knowledge management performance and value creation
    • Engage regularly with the Leadership Team to ensure alignment to business needs

    Required Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in public health, supply chain management, institutional development, business management, finance, or related field or minimum or 10 years in related professional experience
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on supply chain/pharmaceutical management projects
    • Demonstrated knowledge of USAID rules and regulations
    • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
    • Experience working in Tanzania and deep knowledge of geo-political, ethnic, cultural, and other considerations affecting programming in Tanzania and the region is required
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Fluency in English required, Swahili desirable
