VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

1.0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION

On behalf of Water Institute (WI) Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) invites dynamic and suitable qualified Tanzanians to fill Three (3) vacant posts as mentionedbelow;

2.0 THE WATER INSTITUTE (WI)

The Water Institute (WI) is a higher learning Institute and a Government Executive Agency that was established by Government Notice No. 138 of 22 August 2008 according to the Executive Agencies Act (cap.245). The aim of the Institute is to provide quality expertise in the water sector through Technical education, training, research and consultancy services under the policy guidelines of the Ministry of Water.

1.1     ASSISTANT LECTURER – HYDROGEOLOGY 1 POST (RE – ADVERTISED)

1.1.1   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To teach up to NTA level 8 (Bachelor’s Degree)
2. To conduct tutorial and practical exercises for students

• To prepare learning resources

1. To conduct research and innovation activities
2. To carry out consultancy and community/outreach services, and
3. To perform any other duties as assigned by relevant authority at the Institute

1.1.2      QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Master’s Degree (NTA Level 9) in one of the following fields:- Hydrogeology and Drilling, Geology, Applied Geology, Engineering Geology and related fields and Bachelor Degree (NTA Level 8) in Hydrogeology and Drilling, Geology, Applied Geology, Engineering Geology and related fields with GPA of 3.5 (out of 5.0) and above in  Bachelor Degree.

1.1.3      REMUNERATION: PHTS 2

• TUTORIAL ASSISTANT – WATER     RESOURCES         AND                                                           IRRIGATION ENGINEERING  1 POST (RE – ADVERTISED)

1.2.1   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To teach up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma) and may assist teaching in higherNTA level
2. To conduct tutorial and practical exercises for students

• To prepare learning resources

1. To conduct research and innovation activities
2. To carry out consultancy and community/outreach services
3. To perform any other duties as assigned by relevant authority at the Institute

1.2.2      QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree (NTA Level 8) or its equivalent qualification in Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering or related field from recognized Institutions with GPA of 3.5 (out of 5.0) and above.

1.2.3      REMUNERATION: PHTS 1

• . TUTOR II – WATER RESOURCES AND IRRIGATION ENGINEERING 1 POST (RE – ADVERTISED)

1.3.1   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To teach up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma) and may assist teaching in higherNTA level
2. To conduct tutorial and practical exercises for students

• To prepare learning resources

1. To conduct research and innovation activities
2. To carry out consultancy and community/outreach services
3. To perform any other duties as assigned by relevant authority at the Institute

• QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree (NTA Level 8) or its equivalent qualification in Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering or related field from recognized Institutions.

1.3.3      REMUNERATION: PTSS 10

   • Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates;

·       Professional   Registration   and   Training Certificates     from respectiveRegistration or Regulatory Bodies, (where applicable);

• Birth certificate;

1. Attaching copies of the following certificates is strictly not accepted: –
   • Form IV and form VI results slips;
   • Testimonials and all Partial transcripts;

• An applicant must upload recent Passport Size Photo in the Recruitment Portal;
• An applicant employed in the Public Service should route his application letter through his respective employer;

1. An applicant who is retired from the Public Service for whatever reason should

not apply;

1. An applicant should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts;
2. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).

• Professional certificates from foreign Universities and other training institutions should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and NationalCouncil for Technical Education (NACTE);
• A signed application letter should be written either in Swahili or English and Addressed to Secretary, Presidents Office, Public Service Recruitment Secretariat,

• Deadline for application is 30th April, 2024;

1. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed on a date for interview and;
