WATER/CIVIL CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN
Job Overview:
As a Civil Construction Technician in our company, you will play a crucial role in supporting the construction team by executing various tasks related to construction, inspection, and maintenance. Your responsibilities will involve hands-on work, utilizing technical skills to contribute to the successful completion of civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Support:
- Assist in the setup and preparation of construction sites, including the installation of safety barriers and signage.
- Provide hands-on support for various construction activities, such as excavation, grading, and concrete work.
Material Testing:
- Conduct basic tests on construction materials, including soil compaction tests, concrete slump tests, and asphalt density tests.
- Record and report test results to relevant parties.
Quality Control:
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to implement quality control measures.
- Conduct inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and industry standards.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of construction activities, test results, and equipment usage.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by project managers and engineers.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with other team members, supervisors, and project managers.
- Report any issues or challenges encountered during construction activities.
Qualifications:
- Ordinary Diploma in water/Civil engineering;
- Must be registered by ERB.
- Previous 7 years of experience in water project construction or a related field is desirable.
- Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team.
Skills:
- Technical proficiency in operating construction equipment.
- Basic understanding of construction materials and testing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
