Ardhi University (ARU) has officially started accepting applications for candidates aspiring to join the university for a bachelor’s degree for the academic year 2024/2025. The university welcomes applications from candidates who have completed Form Six in previous years, this year, and diploma candidates. Candidates can now submit their applications online through the ARU Admission System.
Ardhi University (ARU) uses an online application system to process and receive admissions applications from students who wish to join ARU for the academic year 2024/2025. Additionally, all students wish to join ARU in 2024/2025 are required to submit their applications online through the ARU Online Application System.
The ARU Online Application System is managed by Ardhi University (ARU) and is used to receive and process applications for various study levels at ARU, including undergraduate degrees, diplomas, and postgraduate degrees (Master’s/PhD). Through the Ardhi University Admission System, students can submit their applications by registering, paying the application fee, and selecting their preferred courses.

The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) bachelor’s degree Admissions Almanac for Higher Education Institutions 2024/25 Admission Cycle indicates that ARU will officially begin accepting applications for admission from students wishing to join the university from 15/07/2024 to 10/08/2024, with the names of students selected to join the university in the first round expected to be announced on 3/09/2024.

Step-by-Step Guide to the ARU Online Application Process
Ardhi University (ARU) has begun accepting admission applications through the Ardhi University Admission System. All candidates expecting to apply for admission to ARU for the academic year 2024/2025 are required to register through the Ardhi University Admission System and ensure they follow all steps to submit applications via the ARU Online Application System, starting from account registration to course selection.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the ARU online application process:
Step 1: Applicant Account Registration
To start the admission application process, you must register an application account by visiting the ARU Online Application System website via the link http://admission.aru.ac.tz/. Once on the application page, you will be requested to register your names as they appear in your Form Four certificates; enter your index numbers, email address, and telephone numbers where prompted.
Steps to Create an account in ARU Admission System
- Click the Create Account button, the registration page will open, and you will be required to provide your NECTA Form 4 Index Number If you completed your O-level secondary level education in Tanzania then, for applicants with multiple sittings, make sure you use your first sitting NECTA form 4 index no.
- If you have studied your O-level secondary level education abroad then, you must enter your NECTA equivalence number. Please confirm that the index number you provided matches the name retrieved from NECTA.
- To finalize registration, you will need to enter an email address, mobile number and password.
- Then click the “Register account” button on your right-hand side to create an account.
- If you are successfully registered, then the system will send you an activation code via registered mobile phone number.
- Use the activation code to complete your registration process.
Step 2: Logging into the Ardhi University Admission System
After successfully completing the initial registration and creating an account, the next step is to log into the system using your username (your Form Four exam number) and password created during registration. Enter your username and password to log into the system and proceed with the application process.
Step 3: Application
After you have successfully logged in to your account, you will be allowed to make application by completing the five steps below.
- Basic Details: Follow the basic details form to enter your information.
- Educational Background: If you have multiple O-Level or A-Level sittings, make sure you enter all your NECTA index numbers for results from your multiple sittings to be used in the selection process. If you are a holder of an ordinary diploma or have equivalent qualifications make sure you enter your AVN number from NACTVET. If you have studied your A-level education abroad then, you must enter your NECTA equivalence number.
- Application Fee: Use the reference number shown to pay the application fee amounting to TSH. 10,000/= by using mobile money services i.e. Mpesa, Tigopesa, Airtel money etc. The application fee is non-refundable.
- Program Selection: Select the programme of your choice from first choice up to fourth choice as shown on the programme application form.
- Preview and submit your application: The final step is to review and verify your details and chosen courses, then click the submit button to send your application. Once your application has been submitted you should visit the ARU website and log into the ARU Online Application System regularly to check the status of your application.

Things to consider when applying for admission.
Throughout the application process, applicants are reminded to use valid telephone numbers and email addresses, which will be used to relay feedback about the admission process. Applicants are also advised to use passwords that they can easily remember. It is worth noting that all these steps are not only built into the online admission system but are also published on the application page.
Additionally, entry requirements for all the programs on offer are published on the university webpage and uploaded on the application page for easy reference by applicants. Undergraduate applicants with foreign certificates are required to apply for the Number and Certificates of Equivalency Translation from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) at https://www.necta.go.tz. During the application, these applicants are required to upload the Number of Equivalency Translation when prompted.
Furthermore, applicants with Diploma qualifications are also required to apply for an Award Verification Number (AVN) and a Certificate for the same from NACTE at https://www.nacte.go.tz. Just as with the Certificate of Equivalency Translation, applicants with Diploma qualifications will be required to upload the Award Verification Number when prompted during their applications.
How to Track Your Application Status
You might wonder how you can know the status of your application, whether you have been selected, selected by more than one university, or not selected at all. You need to be aware that Ardhi University will start providing the selection status through the ARU Online Application System.
Therefore, to know the admission application status, you will need to frequently log into the ARU Online Application System to see if your application has been successful and if you have been selected to join ARU.
If the selection results show that you have been accepted by ARU and other universities, you will need to confirm your choice of one university through the respective university system where you were selected by entering the TCU confirmation code, which will be sent via phone number and email address.
To get your TCU confirmation code, log in to your online application account. Upon receiving a message indicating that you have multiple admissions, obtain the TCU confirmation code by filling in an easily accessible phone number and email address, then click “Request.” After a while, the confirmation code will be sent to both your phone number and email address. Enter the code in the designated field and click “Confirm.”
