    The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) offers a diverse range of courses and programmes for the academic year 2024/2025, each course precisely created to cater to the evolving demands of the global job market, accompanied by a comprehensive fee structure.

    Furthermore, UDSM does not offer any scholarships or sponsorships. Once students have been admitted into the University of Dar es Salaam, they will not be provided with any financial assistance from the University itself. Therefore, it is important to seeking for external funding. Tanzanian students may consider applying for loans through the Higher Education Students Loans Board (HESLB) provided they meet the specified HESLB criteria, or plan to manage the requisites privately upon admission.

    UDSM Fees and Bursaries Breakdown for Undergraduate Degree Programmes

    The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has structured its fees to accommodate the diverse economic backgrounds of its student body, ensuring access to quality education for all. The fee breakdown for the 2024/2025 academic year has been demystified below:

    Regular Undergraduate Degree Programmes

    Candidates selected to pursue the various degree programmes offered by the University of Dar es Salaam are required to pay tuition and other University fees by the beginning of the first semester before they can be permitted to use the University facilities. The fees once paid are not refundable. Also, the  University reserves the right to revise fees as may be appropriate. The tuition fees for the various programmes for Tanzanian and Non- Tanzanian students are indicated in Table 1:

    In addition, students are required to have sufficient funds to cater for Special College/School requirements. Such requirements may be in the form of boots, overalls, compass set, drawing board, track suits, gloves, masks, etc. as well as funds for industrial/practical training  or teaching practice depending on the programme. Applicants are urged to consult the latest University prospectus for specific requirements by their colleges/schools or consult the units that they intend to apply for more details, including indicative cost implication.

    Evening Undergraduate Degree Programmes

    The University of Dar es Salaam runs one evening undergraduate degree programme – the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) hosted by the University of Dar es Salaam Business School. The School also has started running the BBA programme on line. The current fee structure for the BBA programme is as shown in Table 5 below:

    1. Undergraduate Non-Degree Programmes

    Candidates selected to pursue the various undergraduate non-degree programmes are required to pay tuition fees and other related expenses as laid down by the respective academic units. Fees for non-degree programmes vary from one programme to another and these are available from the respective academic units offering the programmes.
