    The Executive Director of the Mkalama District Council has received a new employment permit for the 2023/2024 fiscal year from the Secretary-General of the Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance, with reference number FA.97/288/01/09 dated June 25, 2024. Therefore, all qualified Tanzanians are invited to submit job applications for the following positions:

    1.0 OFFICE ASSISTANT GRADE II – 09 POSITIONS

    1.1. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    i. Typing letters, reports, and regular documents;

    ii. Assisting in receiving guests, listening to their issues, and directing them to where they can be attended to;

    iii. Assisting in maintaining information, records of events, appointments, guests, meeting dates, the supervisor’s travel, and schedules for other planned tasks in the office, and informing the supervisor in a timely manner;

    iv. Assisting in searching for and providing the supervisor with files, documents, or anything needed for office work;

    v. Assisting in conveying instructions from the supervisor to assistants and also informing the supervisor about any information received from those assistants;

    vi. Assisting in receiving files, distributing them to officers in their locations, collecting, maintaining, and returning them to the relevant areas; and

    vii. Performing any other duties assigned by their supervisor.

    1.1.1. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT

    Must have completed secondary education (Form IV or VI) with a diploma in office management or NTA LEVEL 6 certificate in office management. Additionally, must have passed the final exams in Swahili and English with a typing speed of 100 words per minute and have knowledge of office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher from any institution recognized by the government.

    1.1.2. SALARY LEVEL

    According to government salary scales, TGS C.

    1.2. VILLAGE EXECUTIVE GRADE III – 5 POSITIONS

    1.2.1. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    i. Officer in charge and chief executive of the village government;

    ii. Overseeing the safety and security of citizens and their property, being a guardian of peace and an overseer of good governance in the village;

    iii. Coordinating and supervising the planning and implementation of community development programs;

    iv. Secretary of all meetings and committees of the village council;

    v. Interpreting and managing policies, laws, and procedures;

    vi. Preparing reports on work implementation in their area and motivating citizens to prepare and implement strategies to combat hunger and poverty and increase production;

    vii. Leader of heads of technical units in the village;

    viii. Managing, collecting, and preserving all records and documents of the village;

    ix. Receiving, listening to, and resolving complaints and conflicts of citizens;

    x. Overseeing the drafting of village by-laws; and

    xi. Reporting to the ward executive.

    1.2.2. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT

    The applicant must have completed secondary education (Form IV or VI) and have a diploma/certificate in one of the following fields: Administration, Law, Community Education, Financial Management, Community Development, and Arts from a local government college in Hombolo or any institution recognized by the government.

    1.2.3. SALARY LEVEL

    According to salary levels, TGS B.

    1.3. DRIVER GRADE II – 8 POSITIONS

    1.3.1. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety;

    ii. Transporting staff on work-related trips;

    iii. Performing minor vehicle maintenance;

    iv. Collecting and distributing various documents;

    v. Filling out and maintaining records of all trips in the travel log; and

    vi. Cleaning the vehicle.

    1.3.2. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT

    Must have completed secondary education (Form IV or VI), possess a Class C or E driving license, and have at least one year of driving experience without causing accidents. Must have attended basic driving training from any institution recognized by the government.

    1.3.3. SALARY LEVEL

    According to government salary scales, TGS B.

    1.4. RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II – 4 POSITIONS

    1.4.1. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    i. Records assistants will work in areas such as document storage, health records, land records, court records, and general archives;

    ii. This level involves on-the-job training, so they work under the guidance of higher-level records assistants. The tasks they will learn and perform are those done by a Level I records assistant;

    iii. Searching for records, documents, and files needed by readers;

    iv. Verifying receipt and registration of records/documents;

    v. Analyzing, listing, and organizing records/documents;

    vi. Placing and organizing records/documents in racks and cabinets in archives/record storage rooms;

    vii. Filing records (letters, documents, etc.) in files; and

    viii. Handling requests for records/documents from government institutions.

    1.4.2. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT

    Must have completed secondary education (Form IV or VI) and hold a diploma (NTA level 6) in Records Management from recognized institutions, with computer skills.

    1.4.3. SALARY LEVEL

    According to government salary scales, TGS C.

    GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS

    i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years, except for those already employed in the government;

    ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should indicate their disabilities in the job application system for the information of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat;

    iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a current address, reachable phone numbers, and an Email address, along with three reliable referees;

    iv. Applicants who are already Public Servants and have qualifications to enter different categories than those they currently hold must submit their application letters to their employers, who must verify them appropriately;

    v. Applicants must attach a detailed CV with a reliable address and phone numbers, along with three reliable referees;

    vi. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of educational and professional certificates verified by a lawyer, including Form IV and VI certificates for those who have reached that level, and certificates of various trainings based on the job qualifications;

    vii. “Testimonial”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of results”, and results slips for Form IV and VI will NOT BE ACCEPTED;

    viii. Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates are verified and certified by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE);

    ix. Applicants who have been retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary;

    x. Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010;

    xi. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal action against the individuals involved;

    xii. The deadline for submitting job applications is August 2, 2024;
